By registering for an event hosted by the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors (AIBS), you agree to the following terms and conditions:
- Registration and Payment:
- All registrations must be completed online via the AIBS website or designated registration platform or by emailing [email protected]
- All event registrations, including webinars and conferences, will be confirmed via email.
- Early bird rates, where applicable, must be paid by the early bid deadline to qualify for the discounted rate.
- Registration links for online events must not be shared and are non-transferable. Sharing these links with others may result in their deactivation.
- Registrations may be transferred to another individual of equivalent value by contact the AIBS office in writing prior to the event day to request same. Transfers must be arranged prior to the event day, as same-day changes will not be accommodated,
- Invoices are issued with a 14-day payment term from the registration date, However, payment must be received prior to the event start date. If you are unable to make the payment before the event, please contact us at [email protected] to notify as soon as possible. Approval for alternative payment arrangements is considered on a case-by-case basis and is not guaranteed.
- CPD points will only be awarded to the registered attendee base on the duration of their attendance.
- EFT is not accepted without the approval of AIBS. Approval for payment by EFT is considered on a case-by-case basis and is not guaranteed.
- If an invoice has been issued for two (2) or more delegates and one (1) delegate cancels their registration on an unpaid invoice, a new invoice will not be issued. Adjustments will be reflected on the original invoice
- Cancellations and Refunds:
- All cancellation requests must be made in writing to [email protected]
- All outstanding invoices must be paid in full before attending for our events, including webinars and conferences. If you are unsure about your invoice status, please contact us at [email protected] for confirmation.
- Cancellations will be refunded according to the following schedule:
More than 30 days before the event start date: Full refund
Between 7 and 30 days before the event start date: 50% refund
Less than 7 days before the event start date: No refund
- Medical Issues Refund
If you are unable to attend the event due to a medical issue, you may be eligible for a full refund, provided that you submit appropriate documentation such as a medical certificate or doctor's note, that supports your claim. the request must be made prior to the event an no later than 24 hours before the event start date.
Refunds will be processed after review of the submitted documentation.
Refunds made after the event has started will not be eligible for a refund under this policy.
- Non-attendance at an event, whether a webinar or conference, does not invalidate the invoice, and payment will still be required, Refunds will not be given.
- Failure to adhere to the payment terms and conditions will not be considered a valid reason for cancellation.
- For online events, no refunds will be provided for technical issues on the registrant's side, such as internet connectivity problems.
- Program Changes:
- AIBS reserves the right to make changes to the event program, including speakers, topics and schedules, at any time without notice.
- AIBS will make every effort to notify registrations of significant changes via email or the event webpage.
- Code of Conduct:
- AIBS is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all attendees, whether in person or online.
- Disruptive, discriminatory, or inappropriate behaviour, including inappropriate comments or actions in online chats, will not be tolerated.
- AIBS reserves the right to remove individuals from the event, whether physical or online, without refund for breaches of this code.
- Intellectual Property:
- All materials provided at the event, including but not limited to presentations, slides, and handouts, are protected by copyright and remain the property of AIBS or the presenting individual or organisation.
- Reproduction, distribution, or sharing of these materials without prior written permission is prohibited.
- For online events, attendees may not record, share or distribute the event or any portion of it without express permission from AIBS.
- Photography and Recording:
- By attending the event, you consent to photography, video, and audio recording, which may be used for promotional and marketing purposes by AIBS.
- If you do not wish to appear in recordings or photographs, please notify the AIBS team upon arrival at the event or before the online event occurs.
- Liability:
- AIBS will not be held liable for any loss, damage, injury or expenses incurred by registrants, including but not limited to travel disruptions, accommodation cancellations, or changes to the event.
AIBS strongly recommends attendees arrange appropriate travel and personal insurance.
- For online events, AIBS is not responsible for technical issues on the registrant's side, such as internet connectivity, software compatibility or device function.
- Privacy:
- Personal information collected during registration will be handled in accordance with AIBS's Privacy Policy.
- For online events, names or details shared in Q&A sessions, chats, or during interactive discussions may be visible to other attendees,
- Pandemic or Public Heath Emergency Clause:
- In the event of a pandemic, epidemic, or any other public health emergency (including, but not limited to, COVID-19), which affects the ability to hold the event as scheduled, AIBS reserves the right to reschedule, modify, or cancel the event. Attendees will be notified promptly in the event of such changes.
- If the event is rescheduled, tickets will remain valid for the new date. If the event is cancelled and not rescheduled, attendees will be entitled to a refund, minus any non-refundable fees. AIBS will not be liable for any additional costs incurred by the attendee due to the rescheduling or cancellation of the event, including but not limited to travel and accommodation expenses.
- Attendees agree to comply with all health and safety protocols, including but not limited to any requirements for vaccination, mask-wearing, or social distancing, as mandated by local authorities or AIBS.
Agreement:
By registering for an AIBS event, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.
