Building Regulatory Reform In Australia
Policy Update
The AIBS Policy: Building Regulatory Reform in Australia has been updated, the second time this has occurred since it was adopted in 2017. The change relates to the assessment process, now reflecting contemporary approaches to documentation of performance solutions as well as addressing the role of third parties and the provision of certificates from those who are involved in design and construction processes.
The Board of AIBS have made this change to strengthen AIBS advocacy around legislative change to better support the value of statutory building surveying practice and the standard of compliance verification that can be derived from that process. The amended policy document can be accessed here.
