Dr Kaveh Mirzaei

Dr. Kaveh Mirzaei is a Lecturer in Construction Management at CQUniversity, with research expertise at the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and the built environment. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from Monash University, where his research focused on developing AI-driven automation frameworks for construction management and geometric quality inspection using point clouds and 3D reconstruction techniques. He also holds a Master’s degree in Construction Engineering and Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

Dr. Mirzaei’s research explores the application of AI, computer vision, digital twins, and remote inspection systems in construction and building management. His work focuses on automating defect detection, improving dimensional compliance assessment, enhancing digital twin reliability, and advancing sustainable building retrofit and energy optimization frameworks. He has published extensively in leading journals, including Nature Publishing Group, and collaborates closely with industry to deliver practical and innovative solutions for the construction sector.

As both a researcher and educator, Dr. Mirzaei is passionate about integrating emerging technologies into construction and building surveying practices, helping equip future professionals with the digital capabilities needed for an increasingly AI-driven industry.
