Russell Harris is the Technical Manager for the Australian Glass and Window Association and will be providing an overview of major changes implemented through NCC 2019 and how they are affecting the glazing industry.

His presentation will cover the significant aspects of Section J for walls and glazing, and the Window Energy Rating Scheme (WERS) and why all energy ratings are not the same, as well as changes to the Acceptable Construction Practices for window installation detailed in Volume 2 of the BCA 2019. Russell will also provide a brief update on same changes to a number of relevant Australian Standards and provide information about publications and resources available through the AGWA, including AGWA Accredited Company and Master Glazier Programs.

About the Speaker: Russell Harris

Russell has around 20 years experience in the window and door industry, covering a wide range of disciplines. Russell is a competent professional with a thorough understanding of fenestration, including compliance, product design, development and testing, He has extensive project management experience and a thorough understanding of the regulatory framework affecting the window industry. Russell's experience in R&D means he is familiar with many of the emerging technologies, innovations and market influences that are likely to impact the industry in the future. 

Russell has held the post of Technical Manager at Australian Windows Association since 2016. The position involves industry training, involvement in Australian Standards committees, industry communication, technical support, and liaising with other industry associations.

Cancellation Policy: Refunds for registrations should be provided in writing to [email protected] as outlined below and calculated from the first day of training:
 More than 30 days - Full refund
 Between 7 and 30 days - 50% refund
 Less than 7 days - No refund

Participants may transfer their registration to another training session up to one (1) working day prior to the commencement of the training day without loss of funds.

Payment Policy: Payment is required PRIOR to attending the event.
  • All registrations are confirmed upon completion of registration and issue of an invoice
  • Payment terms on all invoices are the earlier of 14 days from the date of invoice, or prior to the first day of the event (where registration is completed and invoice issued less than 14 days from the first day of the event).
