Webinar Event - Queensland Building Regulation 2021 - Queensland Specific

Zoom Webinar

About this Event 30 September 2021

Queensland Specific

The Building Regulation 2021 (Qld) was adopted on 1 September 2021, together with dozens of new or reissued forms that are required to be used or recommended to be used in the administration of the Building Act 1975 (Qld). This happened because the 2006 version of the Regulation expired on 31 August 2021 and unless remade, the Building Act 1975 would no longer be active. Whilst every effort was made to ensure that the remade Regulation was not a change in policy or include significant changes, there have inevitably been changes that have impacted on building surveying and the wider industry.

AIBS is offering a webinar which outlines the key changes made, legislated transition rules including specific transition provisions in the remade Regulation, and anticipates participation by Housing and Public Works to present on phase II of the Building Regulatory reform program. The transition aspects of the remade Regulation will be presented by Victoria Shute, Lawyer with Kelledy Jones, the key changes will be presented by Jeremy Turner, AIBS Technical & Policy Manager.

The webinar presentations are expected to take up half the webinar time so that members may ask questions of the presenters in an open Q & A session following the presentation. This is your opportunity to raise the issues that you are facing and will be a key event for building surveyors seeking to ensure consistent and compliant application of the Building Regulation 2021.
