Message from the VBA Regarding Current Restrictions

The message below was received from the VBA.

The Victorian Government has announced that from 11:59pm Friday 13 February Victoria will move to Stage 4 restrictions for five days, until 11:59pm Wednesday 17 February.

The government has released a list of Circuit Breaker Actions which includes a list of essential providers and essential workers.

These restrictions impose stronger limits on construction activity than the 5 August 2020 Stage 4 restrictions.

That means construction is on pause except for essential work on:

• Projects that have already been listed as State critical infrastructure projects and critical and essential infrastructure projects
• Construction and maintenance for the purposes of national security and defence
• Urgent services necessary for the health and safety of any person, animal or premises will be allowed.
  
  

We know this will be difficult for many practitioners. Fee relief is available to building practitioners and plumbers doing it tough.

By limiting our movement, we limit the potential spread of the virus.
