VALE Bill Winchester

19 February  2020

It is with great sadness that AIBS advise of the passing of Bill Winchester, AIBS Life Fellow.

A long standing highly respected member of AIBS, Bill’s Building Surveying career began in Local Government in 1968, and he then joined what was known as the Local Institute of Building Surveying before AIBS was founded.

An active member of the AIBS WA Chapter Committee for many years, Bill was involved in providing country training conferences in conjunction with the Local Government Department. His professionalism and experience was well respected and valued.

A quietly spoken man with a great sense of humour, Bill is recalled by his colleagues as delight to work with, someone that would lighten a conversation when he entered the room and would be part of the team to stay until the job was done.

Bill was a highly respected Building Surveyor and friend to many, he was always willing to assist and provide advice wherever he could.

Bill’s long term and valued involvement with AIBS was acknowledged by his peers when Bill was bestowed the highest honour of Life Fellow by the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors.

Our deepest condolences are extended to Bill’s family and friends.

The Funeral Service for the late Mr Wilfred Reginald Winchester (Bill) of Cooloongup will be held in Purslowe & Chipper Funerals Chapel, 6 - 8 Robinson Place, Rockingham THURSDAY (20.02.2020) at 1.00pm.

The Cortege will then proceed to EAST ROCKINGHAM PIONEER Cemetery, Mandurah Rd, Rockingham for a Burial at 2.30pm.

Family and friends wishing to pay their respects to Bill may do so at the Funeral Home THURSDAY between 12.30 - 12.50pm prior to the Service.

Kind regards,
