With much sadness AIBS would like to notify Victorian Chapter members of the peaceful passing of much loved and respected colleague AIBS Life Fellow Daryl Woods. Our deepest sympathies go to Daryl’s wife Elaine and their family and friends. Daryl will be sadly missed.
A former AIBS Victoria Chapter Committee member for 12 years, Darryl was also Victoria Chapter President from 1992 to 1994. Darryl was a Board member for 6 years, and AIBS National President from 1998 – 2000.
As many members would know, Daryl was a well-known, deeply respected and knowledgeable building surveyor in Victoria. Prior to his retirement, Daryl held the position at the office of the Melbourne Building Control Commission as Co-ordinator, Building Appeals Board (BAB). Daryl worked for many years as a building surveyor at the Shire of Flinders now known as Mornington Peninsula Shire Council.
A funeral will be held for Daryl on Friday 02 August 2019 at 2.00pm at Tobin Bros Tides of Life Chapel, 39A Boneo Road, Rosebud (corner The Drive).
A private cremation will follow.
