Webinar Event - Engagement Practice Note Update

With recent changes to the Building Development Certifiers Act 2018 and the Building and Development Certifiers Regulation 2020 which came into effect on 1 July 2020, we have identified changes to the terms of engagement that are recommended to be used for statutory building surveying engagements related to the former Building Professionals Act 2005.

Additionally, the Certifier Practice Standard is set to be applied to all registered certifiers in NSW by Regulation.

The new requirements establish a requirement for certain information to be provided when an engagement is established amongst other changes.

An updated version of the standard form of engagement and associated AIBS Practice Note to reflect the new requirements will soon be available in the Members Area of the AIBS website.

To support members to understand these changes and the implications of the legislative changes on practice, we have developed a training webinar in conjunction with KelledyJones which explains how the new Practice Note and Engagement agreement template should be used.
