NCC Vol. 1 & 2 Energy Efficiency & Condensation Changes

With the adoption of the NCC 2019 has seen substantial changes to Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 energy provisions. In preparation for the full adoption of the NCC in 2020, AIBS have developed this training session to enable building surveying practitioners to be fully aware of the new requirements in their assessments.
This training day will provide you with all the information you will need as a building surveyor to use the energy efficiency provisions including condensation changes and BASIX vs BCA2019.
The session will explore how the BCA 2019 Vol. 2 Part 3.12 and BASIC can work together and highlight as building surveying practitioners the areas of concern that you need to be aware of.
Attendees will be provided with real life examples to assist with your day to day assessment work. So, whether you work in the domestic/residential or commercial sector, this training session will provide you with all the necessary information and details in order to complete your work as a building surveyor with confidence.
Session 1
Vol 1 (Section J)
This session will focus on;
• Stringency requirements for commercial buildings
• Using NABERS Energy and Green Star as compliance options
• Use of the Deemed to Satisfy Provisions, and
• Use of the comfort levels for building occupants
Examples will be provided with Q&A opportunities will be included to ensure attendees obtain maximum benefit.
Session 2
This session has been expanded to incorporate the BCA 2019 Vol. 2 Part 3.12 & BASIX in NSW
• How Part 3.12 and BASIX work together
• Areas of concern for compliance
• Things to check prior to CC & OC
• Tips, advice & questions natHERS & BASIX
BCA 2019 Changes
• Condensation management, planning, advice & strategies
Condensation will be reviewed to provide practitioners with the understanding they need when assessing and inspecting buildings. Worked examples will be provided to enable practitioners to complete their work with confidence, and will include;
• Pliable building membrane (with cavity)
• Exhaust systems
• Roof space ventilation
About the Speakers:
Brad Hoad
|
Brad shows builders, designers and homeowners how their homes naturally heat & cool and how to improve the results. He combines 28 years as a builder and 13 years as a consultant to provide qualified, experienced and practical advice for natHERS, BASIX and Section J DtS & JV3 reports.
Brad delivers various topics for HIA Training Services and is the Chair of HIA NSW Regional Technical Committee.

Evan Logan
|
CADDS Energy’s Manager Evan Logan is an energy efficiency specialist with a keen eye for identifying and assessing ESD opportunities in any type of building. Holding a bachelor of technology in environmental technology and accreditation as a thermal performance, Green Star and NABERS assessor. Evan has been involved in government projects to develop the latest energy efficiency requirements.

Cancellation Policy: |
Refunds for registrations should be provided in writing to [email protected] as outlined below and calculated from the first day of training:
More than 30 days - Full refund
Between 7 and 30 days - 50% refund
Less than 7 days - No refund
Participants may transfer their registration to another training session up to one (1) working day prior to the commencement of the training day without loss of funds.

Payment Policy: |
Payment is required PRIOR to attending the event.
- All registrations are confirmed upon completion of registration and issue of an invoice
- Payment terms on all invoices are the earlier of 14 days from the date of invoice, or prior to the first day of the event (where registration is completed and invoice issued less than 14 days from the first day of the event).
- Any cancellation of registrations for seminars must be made in writing to [email protected]. A failure to make payment in accordance with the above terms will not be accepted as a valid cancellation.
