WA Chapter | Perth: Waterproofing Wet Areas and Near Flat Roof Structures

30 August 2018,  Perth | 6 CPD

-
Ever heard about or experienced a project where no matter how much silicone was added, it never stopped leaking?

Do you want to know the typical causes of these problems?

Roof structures reliant on waterproof membranes are becoming increasingly common.  If you want to make sure you don’t get caught up in a leaking roof saga, you need to know how things go wrong. To have a solid understanding of the application of the requirements of the BCA for membrane roof construction is also vital.

Our “Waterproofing Wet Areas and Near Flat Roof Structures” seminar series is presented by Thomas Wutzler, a New Zealand based international expert willing to provide you with the best knowledge available on this subject.
His company’s experience in forensic leak investigation and substantial expert witness work provides a fascinating insight into the issue and as a building surveyor, Thomas knows what you need to know.

This is far more than just another waterproofing seminar.  This is set to be the training seminar which forms the foundation to your knowledge of this element of construction.  A moment of truth that you will recall whenever you see a set of plans where a membrane system is denoted as providing that all important barrier between wet and dry.

Topics to be covered in this seminar series include:

  • NCC BCA 2016 performance provisions related to waterproofing;
  • NCC BCA 2016 Acceptable Construction Manual (ACM) provisions for waterproofing including AS3740 and AS4200 requirements;
  • typical failure consequences;
  • common failure modes;
  • detailing necessary to demonstrate compliance with performance and ACM;
  • evidence of suitability demonstrating compliance with the above;
  • product testing and relationship to specific situations – i.e. when this is not adequate to demonstrate compliance; and
  • sources of information that may assist in undertaking assessment or inspection functions.

The event is designed to be suitable for building surveyors, design practitioners, builders and wet area and membrane roofing system contractors.

Venue has free parking for all delegates!
