Recently the prevalence of reduced flows and pressures of water for fire fighting is becoming far more common.  This seminar will concentrate on providing design and practical information regarding the SAMFS and CFS operational requirements for providing fire fighting water to buildings.

Discussion will include considerations where fire water from street main is sub standard or not available and what design considerations need to be taken into account.  Examples will be provided of situations where Performance Solutions have been sought and the methodology used to meet the performance requirements and the operations requirements of the fire services.

The topics to be covered include:
*

- Ministers Spec for farm building – how to apply and when referrals are required
- Water tank connections
- Use of static water supplies such as dams
- Operations requirements for truck connection
- Pressures, flows and boosters and tank sizes to AS2419.1
- Testing and commissioning requirements prior to occupancy and common issues arising
- Response times and locations covered by CFS and SAMFS
