Structure, Fire, Weatherproofing and Energy Efficiency

Would you like to undertake performance solutions, but never had the training to do so?

Are you an experience building surveyor who would like a detailed refresher on performance training?

The introduction of the NCC 2019 has placed increasing emphasis on verification and performance-based designs.  So don’t be left behind, this training event will enable you to be more confident utilising performance solutions as a compliance pathway for the NCC.

AIBS has developed this full day training event specifically for building surveyors to provide you with the necessary skills to prepare, undertake or assess performance-based solutions.

Morning Sessions - Performance Assessments – Design and Evidence of Suitability

The morning session will provide you with the necessary technical details from the NCC to address performance solutions including performance based materials.  The training will also provide an overview of the rules for performance solutions as well as your statutory obligations as a building surveyor in Queensland.

This session will review the process involved to undertake a performance solution. Areas to be covered include;

Should you consider Deemed to Satisfy or performance solutions?
What is the role of the acceptable construction practice and manuals in the assessment process?
Common terms used in the assessment process
Methodologies used in the assessment and design of a performance solution
The importance of understanding risk management concepts
Evidence of Suitability in assessing product compliance.

Case scenarios will be provided to demonstrate to you as the statutory building surveyor, what your obligations are to enable you to correctly certify building products to ensure compliance with the NCC.

Afternoon Sessions - Case Study Examples
The afternoon will provide a number of case study examples and will allow plenty of time to workshop and discuss the issues raised.
