Continued Reduction in CPD Points

Last year when COVID-19 first caused significant disruption across Australia with national lockdowns and industry restrictions relating to gatherings of people, the AIBS Board provided for a reduction in CPD points. This was designed to assist members meet their obligations, but still continue to undertake key structured training during this period.
  
Given the ongoing disruption and restrictions in various jurisdictions due to COVID-19, at their Board meeting held on 12 August 2021, a continued reduction in CPD points was approved to assist members during this challenging period. 
  
As such, the Board confirm the current COVID imposed CPD point requirements listed below, will remain applicable until 31 July 2022.
  
The period will be from 1 August 2021 to 31 July 2022. i.e. any CPD returns due during this time will only require 15 CPD points to be achieved.
  
The required 15 CPD Points must be achieved as per the following:

  • A minimum of 10 CPD Points will be required to be either Type A or Type B (no change to now)
  • The remaining 5 points may be achieved through Type C, D or E points
  • The number of points required for a member’s triennium will be amended from 90 to 75 to reflect this change and the requirement for Type A & B points over the triennium reduced from 45 to 40.
