The AIBS is a Limited by Guarantee Company registered with ASIC. It is one national company not a federation of state bodies.
It is controlled by a National Board of Directors elected from the Membership via the Chapter Executive Committees (CEC’s). The National Board consists of seven Directors, including the Immediate Past President. A Director is appointed by each CEC for a two year term and is eligible for reappointment by the CEC at the end of each such term.
The AIBS has six chapters. They are:
- South Australia
- Western Australia
Each Chapter is subject to the direction and control of the National Board and to the conditions imposed by the Constitution and By-Laws.
Employed and contracted staff in the National Office support the work of volunteer participants such as the National Board and CEC’s. This staff supports the activities of Chapters and National Committees and carry out the policies set by the Board. They report to the Chief Executive who is based in the National Office in Sydney.
